Physical Descriptions

Will is 6’ 2”, 210 lbs. His hair is steel gray and cropped in a military fashion. He has received several large scars on his upper torso, while he was a POW on Batazed. In General, Will appears as a battered marine veteran commensurate with his thirty years of service to the Federation.

Personality
In first encounters, Will seems to be a battle harden marine. He has more of a Drill Sergeants mentality, than the refined finesse of an officer. However on special occasions, Will has the tack of a well seasoned diplomat.

History

William Alexander was bourn on earth February 7, 2333. He was raised in a small town in Ohio, on the North American continent by his parents; John and Jenny Alexander. Both were Starfleet Officers assigned to Starfleet Academy as instructors. Needless to say, Will was introduced to the Starfleet way of life early on.

Will had a good life growing up on Earth with his Parents. He excelled in school and was very athletic. However it was his good grades that earned him trips to work with his parents. It was on those trips that led Will to his future. From then on, he would work harder and study longer then anyone in his class, just so he could to be able to join Starfleet. When the time came for him to apply for the academy, Will shocked his parents by deciding to enlist in the marines instead of going to the academy. At first his Father was furious and refused to even discuss the matter with him. His Mother on the other hand, supported her son and wished him good luck.

In the marines time honored traditions, Will went thought basic training at Paris Island, South Carolina. The training was intensive. More so than he thought it would be. There were times when he was going to give up, but didn’t and stuck to it. At the end of the 16 week’s of training, Will graduated. At the ceremony, Will was surprised to see his father had attended along with his mother. He had thought that joining the marines had caused rift between him and his father that could not be repaired. He was wrong.

After basic, Privet Alexander attended Urban Environment Training at The Marine Warfare Training Centre, Berengia VI. The training involved the use of combat tactics in populated areas held by enemy forces. Later on in life Will would fine the training very useful.

Will’s first posting was to the USS Trident. The Trident was a border cutter, tasked with patrolling a sector of space disputed by the Cardassian Union. Know as the Border Wars, the Federation and the Cardassians fought deadly and bloody skirmishes for key sectors of space, until the late 2350’s. During his time on the Trident, Will distinguished himself as a good marine as will as a skilled leader.

Will had many other postings, from starships to starbases and planetary facilities. He also continued his education in the art of war. Returning to Berengia VI, Will attended the Deep forest environmental Training. Then back to Earth were he entered Senior Non Commissioned Officer Training. At the end of that evolution, Will was promoted to the rank of Gunnery Sergeant and posted to Paris Island as an instructor.

Returning to Paris Island was beneficial for Will and for the corps. It boosted his confidents in himself and made him into a well honed leader. The marines gained a gifted instructor. His time as an instructor and working with the recruits, gave him the insight of what it was like to lead, train, and mold large numbers of marines. It was while his was at the Island, Will started to consider becoming an officer.

However he would have to put his future on hold. In the Bajor sector, a new enemy had emerged from the stable wormhole in the area and started to rattle its saber. The Federation being cautious started to straighten key starbases and federation embassies. Will was sent with a battalion of marines to protect the embassy on Batazed if the need arose.

When the attack came, it was total surprise. During the first four hours of the attack, over half of the marines and fleet personnel were killed or taken prisoner. Six hours later, Batazed fell. Will was a POW and tortured for information. He never gave his captors any information, other than, Alexander, W. Gunnery Sergeant, SP270349.

Later that year (2374) Batazed was liberated and Will return to earth. He was given thirty day’s POW leave. At the end of his leave will applied for OCS. Due to the need for trained combat officers, instead of OCS Will was given a battle field promotion to 2ND Lieutenant. After his promotion he was posted to the USS Agamemnon as the Marine XO and the MCO. His time on the Agamemnon went by like a blur.

From there, he fond himself as part of the occupying force on Cardassia Prime. Then after a tour there, he once again returned to earth to instruct at the Academy. Were he trained officers until 2384, when he was transferred to the USS Lancelot as the Marine CO.
