Personality & Traits
General Overview
Jing is what some would consider "rough around the edges." She speaks in a direct manner, and doesn't care whether or not the person is in a position of authority. If she thinks they are wrong, she will tell them so, consequences be damned. She's the type to swear, and put her feet up on desks. She's a loyal friend to the end, that hates formality with a burning passion.

Jing is the type that will bend the rules if she thinks she can get away with it. She often forms grey market rings on the vessels and stations she serves on, trading in anything from vegetable to small antiques.

Strengths & Weaknesses
Dr. Juan has demonstrated extreme skill in the art of medicine. She is kind, patient, and has a wonderful bedside manner with those under her are. She has been know to personally oversee the care of her patients, refusing to pass them off to other doctors, sometimes refusing to eat or sleep till forcibly ordered to leave their side. In battle field conditions, Dr. Juan has often taken unnecessary risks on order to save lives. Ignoring the orders of superiors, she would run into fire, and other dangerous conditions, putting her marine escorts in danger. When questions about his, her replay was: "They're Marines. Their job is to fight, mine's to heal. If the gutless bastards can't keep up, get me a set of grunts who can." Dr.Juan was put on report for the incident.

History
Dr. Juan was born of a Clone of Asian descent, and a natural born human also of Asian decent. Her mother, not wanting to bear the stigma of having a half natural born offspring, abandoned her at Orphanage 117 in Kowloon City. The orphanage- like most on Fujian-Was sub-standard. As a result she grew up in very harsh conditions, becoming accustomed to violence, lack of sanitation, and poor nutrition.

As the progeny of a clone, and a free born human, she was an outcast in both societies. Accepted by neither the tight-knit clone hierarchy, nor the lawless freeborn quarters. She was forced to follow the three laws, as is any Delta class clone, yet she retained the free spirit and strong will of an Independent-minded freeborn.

The three laws are as follows:

1. A Delta-class clone may not kill a sentient being intentionally. Nor allow a sentient being to die from withholding medical attention if it is available to be given.
2. A Delta-class clone must obey orders given to it by his or her superiors, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
3.A Delta-class clone must protect his or her own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

Hindered by the laws from killing, her keen intellect allowed her to avoid the warring factions, sexual slave trade, and everyday violence that is the norm on the colony. As a young child, Juan established a small black market ring. She, and a small group of friends would steal from the local Federation transports, and later sell or trade their wares, for goods or services they could not steal themselves. Using this source of new capitol, Juan managed to save up enough to procure passage on a federation transport to Earth, at the tender age of twelve. Her well forged passport managed to stand up to scrutiny until she reached Earth, where she was taken into custody by local federation authorities. The Fujian Government refused to extradite her, so she sought asylum on earth and was accepted, and subsequently was adopted by stable family for the first time in her young life.

Feeling the pull from the genetic imperative of her clone born half, Jing aspired to become a doctor. Upon enrolling in medical studies, she realized that the urge had always been with her. Even as a young girl she had been fascinated with the workings of the body, and how injuries and diseases were treated.

Medical report:
Dr. Juan is in over all good health physically, But bears the psychological trauma of growing up in the harsh conditions of her childhood. These scars express themselves in the seemingly contradictory sides of her personality: Her abnormal care and compassion for her patients, and her disdain for figures of authority. She has few friends, but has been known to take people into her confidence who mange to gain her trust.

Personal Observations:
I believe that Dr.Juan has the makings of an excellent practitioner. But the fact that she trusts few and listens to even fewer, limits her tremendously. Having worked with her first hand, I have seen her love for her patients, and know that being a doctor is far more than a simple 'occupation' to her. She has taken the fact that her medical center was destroyed, very personally. Though she tries to hide it, I believe her self confidence was shaken, and she is using this new position to get her bearings once again. It is my hope, that she finds what she is looking for there, and becomes the great physician I know her to be.
