=======Psychological Profile========
Davin has the typical calm associated with joined Trills. He can be very aggressive during competitions and in battle situations, but otherwise he is a genial person under normal circumstances. He displays remarkable compassion and empathy for those under his command, but he is very good at hiding it. Davin is a very stable officer that works well under pressure and has a talent for forming bonds with the crew.
=======Strengths and Weaknesses=======
Davin is a very friendly person that manages to form bonds with people without coming off as a happy-go-lucky person trying to be everyone’s ‘buddy.’ He works well with other people and shows prowess in military strategy, evidenced by the various maneuvers he has used during the Dominion War.
However, Davin has a tendency to hold grudges with people who have he has come into conflict with. He can become quite embittered and has a hard time overcoming those feelings.
=======Likes/Dislikes=======
Davin likes to spend time socializing with his friends. He has been known to spend time in the holodeck with some of the younger officers, but he finds that it brings them closer together and gives him a better gauge of the crew. In addition, he enjoys playing card games from different cultures.
=======Hobbies=======
Davin enjoys putting models together of Starfleet craft, though he only keeps the very best of them. There are about twelve different models of various ships and starbases in his quarters.
=======Medical History=======
Davin, like most people, received a few bumps and bruises while growing up. He broke his arm when he was eight years-old after he fell off the roof of his house. He also suffered from a violent bacterial infection when he was 13 years-old after swimming in a swamp. Other than that, there have been no other major injuries in his life.
In 2364, Davin returned to Trill and was joined with the Tahn symbiont. There were minor complications during the surgery due to damage the symbiont received in an accident prior to the death of the previous host, but the symbiont recovered quickly and has shown no further problems. Otherwise, Davin is a healthy Trill.

=======Biography======
Davin was born on Trill on June 17, 2338. His father was the chief engineer aboard the USS Farragut, but his father did had his wife and newborn son moved to Trill after the birth. His mother was a senior administrator of the Trill Symbiosis commission and was joined herself. In 2340, his father was transferred to Trill for civilian duties. A year later, his parents produced another child: a daughter named Kiana.
Davin followed his father’s example and became an engineer. At age 14, the Trill Engineering Institute noticed the boy’s aptitude in the field and invited him to the school with other promising young Trills. Davin enjoyed the four years he spent at the institute. He graduated in the top ten percent of his class. Also during this time, he applied for joining with the Trill Symbiosis Commission. The Commission approved Davin for joining during his final year at the Academy, but he would not be joined for three more years.
After he graduated from the Institute, Davin joined Starfleet and travelled to Earth to attend Starfleet Academy. Davin excelled in his engineering courses at the Academy, and many of his instructors persuaded him to take up additional training in command. Davin graduated near the top of his class and Davin was assigned to the USS Nelson as ACEO.
The USS Nelson was a new ship of the Nebula class. Davin became an indispensable member of the engineering crew during the first year of his service, and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant junior grade in 2362. A year later, Davin was recalled to the Trill home world and was joined with the Tahn symbiont. After spending a month on Trill, Davin returned to the Nelson. Some of the crew found Davin to be odd, but they adapted well to the new changes. Most commented that he seemed much more sure of himself and his captain said that he was a more focused individual.
Davin became heavily involved in a relationship with a science officer aboard the Nelson, but were forced to separate after the joining because the Trill forbid reassociation. Relations became strained between Davin and the science officer, but they eventually worked out their issues and remained friends for years.
In 2366, Starfleet promoted Davin to the rank of full lieutenant and transferred to the USS Britain as chief engineer. There, aboard the new Akira class, Davin began to get a taste of command. The captain saw potential in Davin and made him second officer. Davin led many away missions during his time on the Britain and gained notable attention during two battles where Davin came up with solutions that saved the ship.
In 2371, Starfleet transferred Davin to the USS Reliant-C, one of the new Saber-class starships, with a promotion to the rank of lieutenant commander. He became the ship’s executive officer and became an invaluable counsel to the captain during the Dominion War. Starfleet lists Davin and the rest of the crew of the Reliant as missing and assumed dead when they were lost with the destruction of Ronoma II after the ship replied to a distress call from the facility.
=======Tahn======
The Tahn symbiont has survived through three hosts before Davin. The following is a brief biography of those hosts.
Joran Tahn (2157-2239): Served as head of the Symbiosis Commission, he was a well-respected doctor of his time and was considered an expert on the physiological and psychological aspects of the Trill symbionts. He had a wife and three children; two boys and a girl. Joran was seen as a very jovial man with a great outlook on life.
Ezra Tahn (2239-2321): Served as a chief engineer aboard two different Starfleet vessels, she served with distinction the 20 years she spent in Starfleet and retired as a lieutenant commander. She never had children, but he was noted for giving prospective hosts a hard time during their time with field docents. She returned to Starfleet as an Academy instructor three years after her retirement and returned home to Trill in her later years to transfer the hosts before she died on of old age on Earth.
Zia Tahn (2321-2363): Served as a Starfleet marine colonel, he died during a skirmish with the Cardassians during the Federation-Cardassian War. He had a wife and a son.
